Five 4 Friday:the LAST friday in May!

I feel like it has been forever since
I Five 4 Friday'd it up.

Well it Has and Has Not.

Last time I linked up on a Fraturday.

So today, on this very last Friday in May,

I just had too.

I feel like it is in the Blogging Handbook.

On Fridays, thou must link up with Doodle Bugs.

So, without further pointless rambling....

One: I've gon Copic Crazy!!

After some serious soul searching,I have decided to
get back into ART:CREATING:CRAFTING.

And with a little You Tube browsing I found out
about these lovely babies.

But man are they pricey!

But I still bought some.

As we speak I am waiting for a shipment (due tomorrow)
of their Special Edition Set w/ the black barrels.

And like 23 individuals. AHHH!!!

But while I wait I had to take advantage of
Michaels Memorial Sale!

So I went in for 1 marker.

Silly me.

I got one and asked to go through the line again.
And lucky me the manager said yes!

THANK YOU!!!

I went through and intended to by two more.

Then I picked up another.

And found out that one was reduced to $1.99

So hence lucky number five. Also $1.99

*V000 and V01

I also ordered that cool looking Copic Inventory booklet.

That I did not need but.....

I also did not need Studio 3 Solutions Color Cubbies.

But I ordered 3. And I am glad because....

And I ordered mine on 5/29/14!!

Be on the lookout for a Copic Marker/Storage Video

TWO: The Frozen Flashdance

Wait...What is it called when you break into song,
but do not dance?

FLASH SONG? o_O

Well, we took the 3rd graders on a trip to the

National Air & Space Museum.....

Which was pretty cool, even though
it did exactly make my five).

What was even better was the Coach Bus ride.

We watched FROZEN.

And the kiddos did this.

I just want to note that one of the loudest voices
was a little boy.

He was incredibly precious and not only knows the
songs, but the line-VERBATIM and motions.

FROZEN has taken over our school.

THREE: RIB-O-LICIOUS

Not only am I a undercover fat kid, I love to cook!

And this week I made ribs for the first time.

Yum!

CLEARLY, it is not the last time.

Pictured you see Baby-back Ribs, Chopped Kale and
Corn Muffins made with Real Corn Kernels.

OM NOM NOM!!

I have every intention on making a food linky.

Does anyone want to be involved?

FOUR: Digi Stamp Crush

With my "Return to Art" initiative, I ran across Digital Stamping.

And fell in love.

I am going to assume you know what Digital Stamping (DS) is.

And for those who don't-GOOGLE.

Anywho, I have not purchased many because I am

waiting for my Copics.

(If you haven't been listening, scroll up to number one.)

Okay, but all the DS I have purchased are all from

The artist, Krista is super amaze-balls.

They remind me of urban, super cute....
and not scary/creepy Precious Moments images.

I plan on ordering way more! She has one with a mustache' for $4.oo

Anyone wanna gift it to me?

Pretty Please is implied!!!

After my post, scroll up to where I linked her and
check out her work. You will love it!!!

FIVE: Speaking of Stamps....

When I went into Michaels to ONLY but one Copic Pen,

I found these cute stamps.

And guess what? I only paid $2.00!!

*pats self on back*

And again with the Washi Tape...

I know, I know.

But I could not resist.

I cannot wait to show you guys my collection.

I am still waiting on a few tapes from China.

Yeah, China.

I ordered from Amazon and did not pay attention to

where they were coming from.

I may or may not have an online shopping problem.

After you comment and tell me you love me and that I do NOT
have an online shopping addiction, then head on over to

Hooray for Teacher

My principals are the cutest leaders ever. They created clues each day, that connected to some cute teacher appreciation gift.

I wish I would have wrote them down to share.

It was something like:

1. Clipped yadada.... Teamwork Clipboard
2.  Paws to say we care...... Tumbler cup with paw prints and quotes.
3. Classrooms SIZZLE with student learning..... luncheon with fajitas cooked on-the-spot
4. What's in your wallet..... Identify Theft Protection card holder
5. Stupendous yadada <-- today was busy so this is still a surprise for Monday!

I received these gifts from two of my kiddos today.

the Color Me Rad DC 5k.

*Accio EXCUSE!!*

 #HarryPotterNerd.

Seriously, all I can come up with is, I was extremely busy.
With the end of the year vastly approaching, it felt like ALL my deadlines have come up at once.

And I was so overjoyed.

Now that the week is over I am so READY to celebrate two of my favorite linky addictions.

"Hold on ti-eat, it's gonna be a "BUMPAY RIE-DE*"
- Jamaican Shrunken head.

*as a courtesy, I left out the shrunken head pic from the movie...he looks super gross!*

#HarryPotterNerd

(Some have happened and some WILL happen in the near future!)

Observation Three

Have you EVER felt like this?

I have...PLENTY...in the past.

This week I had my 3rd observation.

::PAUSE::

Backstory: I am not a "new new" teacher, but I am new to the district AND to Elementary Special Education.

SO it was my 3rd observation with this district.

::UNPAUSE::

Anyway, I usually get nervous when extra people want to invade my teaching bubble.

FYI: my class = my bubble.

But, I have been pretty successful thus far with getting my observations over and done..

BTW, I DO appreciate the feedback.

My school has awesome leadership.

Which is a 180 degree different from my VERY first
gig back in 2010....

 but I digress.

I was slightly nervous at first for observation 3.

Why?

1. This unit has been pretty hard on them.

(I LOVE FRACTIONS!!- says no 3rd grade student EVER.)

PLUS......
2. We have been testing. AND TESTING!!!
3. I go a new students and...
4. There is one student who....
I am not quite sure what is happening with her.

Moving on.....

I was determined this week would be awesome so...
I did NO DOG AND PONY SHOW lesson!!

As teachers YOU know what that is.

We were completely ourselves and in our element.

And......And!!!
My kiddos SURPRISED ME with how much they remembered
 and their High-level responses.

What!!!!

So I asked them harder questions.

And got detailed responses.

It.was.awesome.

*Fast forward to end of day*

I wanted to get my post reflection out of the way,
 so I requested it electronically.

I got this email:

Translation: You nailed Observation # 3.

Chick Adoptions

I snagged a cute little Spring activity from Christi at Mrs. Fultz Corner, titled Chick Adoptions.

With this activity, students can take care of a baby chick plush or peep and it includes coordinating activities, such as word problems, writing prompts and the chicken life cycle.

I am not selling it so if you need more info, check out Christi's post here.

My kids loved it!!!
We had an Peep Hunt in our classroom and we completed adoption certificates. Students named their Peep, drew a picture and signed the certificate.

IN CURSIVE!!!

FYI: I am not their writing teacher so they were
so proud of my swooning over their cursive handwriting.

Kite Day

I am at a lost for words to describe Kite Day.

I have 8 third graders. Then my co-teacher was out, so the 4th grade crew (9 students) stopped by.

Plus 3 classes of at least 25- 3rd graders each (75 students).

Where two of those classes had substitutes (-_-)

Then I turned my head and a few 2nd grade classes were out there.

IT WAS INSANE.

But the kids were having a blast!

We stayed out for about an hour or so...

I do not know where the other teachers were, but I am protective of my bunch so I was in on the action.

I think I fixed about 10 kite casualties.

And of course one of my kiddos did not

" keep away from the trees"

And he got his kite stuck.

I tried, but I could not get it down.

Then he made this face:

Thank God I had an extra kite.

Baltimore Museum of Industry

This week we had a visit from the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

3rd grade rotated from class to class to participate
in some pretty cool activities.

Assembly Lines: They created an assembly line similar
to what Mr. Ford's company developing to
maximize car distribution.

The Marble Challenge: Similar to roller coaster design,
they created tubes to bring various size marbles through
straight and looped designs.

* OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.*

Go the Distance: Who could create a car that would go the farthest? My rotation group had a team with a car that went 17 feet!! It was a group of girls so our 3rd grade fellas were not happy-lol.

The Hogwarts Express and Diagon Alley

I will own my nerdiness on this one.....
Universal is building Diagon Alley!!!!

And...AND!!!!

What is awesome is that is in a different park than their Hogsmeade, so park goers will have the option to take the Hogwarts Express between the two locations.

I cannot stand the excitement!!!

It opens sometime this summer!!

I cannot wait...

So much that  signed up for updates.

Nerd right? lol.

This was the reason for the Harry Potter references earlier.

OBVIOUSLY.

I know I said 5, but this also

MUST be said.....

For the next week, I will be relaxing and
taking some much needed "me" time.

And I have no excuse to not link up next week/ or pop online
(in some fashion) to tell you ALL about it!

How was your week last week? What are you looking forward to?

Link up and share your thoughts, plans and blessings!
